Sweater Weather
Hello everyone!! Oh goodness it feels like forever since the last time I posted anything! I hope you all had a great summer! I’m sorry it had to end. Mine went by a little too fast, but I am ready for fall weather again. I’ve missed wearing coats, sweaters and scarves!
Last week I started taking classes at a local college where I can earn duel credits. That way by the time I actually graduate from high school I can have most of my general classes out of the way. I’ve been a bit busy with that, but it’s going good so far. I made a new backpack the other day (my Barbie backpack just wasn’t holding up) which I will be posting photos of later on. :)
Here are a couple self portraits I took today. I’m not too sure about the first one, but hey, it’s good to have a couple clinkers every now and then. :) I hope you’re having a great Labor Day so far, and happy sweater weather!

I love both your first and second picture, they are both amazing. And I love the colors in your sweater =) hope your classes go well!
ReplyDeleteBoth pictures are absolutely gorgeous. I especially like the vastness of the second one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog xx
loving the butterfly.... where is it that your looking to go to college?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the first photo. Youre such a talented artist :)
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is really just utterly fantastic, definitely not a clinker!
ReplyDeleteboth photos are lovely. u have hardly any make up on... u are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAw thank you everyone for such kind words! You're always so nice :)
ReplyDeleteBecca: Thank you! Well I'm a Junior this year so I'm trying to narrow down my list of where I want to apply. So far I'm looking into, Parsons, Pratt, Rhode Island School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art and I really like Savanna College of Art and Design, but the scholarship that I'm applying for doesn't include Savanna. It's a bit confusing trying to figure out what school would be best. There are so many choices, but I'm mostly looking for one where I'll have the least amount of debt with by the time I graduate. Do you have any suggestions on a college or tips for applying? I'll ask for all the help I can get :)
both self portraits are beautiful. I'm amazed at your photography - you get it to look so great even though you're the camerawoman and the model at the same time. Good luck with your studies and glad to have you back.
ReplyDeleteBTW my ceramics teacher studied at Parsons many years ago - I hear it is considered one of the best art/design schools - I don't know much about the other schools but if I were you I would go for the school where I would learn the most and get the most out of it, and feel that I belong there. Inevitably the prestige and name of the school matters to some degree, later on in your career. If you have a chance to visit the school and walk around the halls and talk with other students and professors, that can also help to make the choice. If not, I'd check out their websites, see student projects and somehow get this understanding through the web. I know in the USA it's different than where I am (price of University is much cheaper here, and everything is close by so you can go to all the schools) - but that's just my advice anyhow. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Esther, I just found your blog today. Your work is stunning! I'm inspired. :)
ReplyDeleteyea im in my senior year of high school this yea and i sew as well, however i am way to lazy for a bog haha but yea Parsons is on my list and so is FIT, which is a good school for me becuase i live in new york and will get state tuituion for going to school in NYC. As far as applying for college goes applications are very time consuming and the work doubles when you need to send in a portfolio. the best advice i can give you is apply as soon as possible and get it out of your way.
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for another of your posts for a while, but then when i see that there is one, it is so beautiful that i forget about the wait.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up, they are so nice
I love both images but I like the 'awkwardness' of the first one. I am so not a photographer so please take my comments with a pinch of salt but I do love the tones and the colours. Glad to see you here again. Looking forward to seeing your new backpack... and especially your new twin... how spooky is that?!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the first one! So creative. The butterfly is so cool!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first one. Great to see you back on the blogosphere!!
