The life of a butterfly catcher:
Today felt like a butterfly catching day. Ever just feel like catching butterflies? I get the urge all the time. I made my dress from a shirt I got at Goodwill. I cut the sleeves off, then sewed them together, gathered them into a skirt and then connected it to the top. I’m really happy with the way it turned out…but I realized something today. The 1900 style collars are evil torture devices made by man that make you sweat all day long. I think they’re right up there with corsets. Haha, but that doesn’t mean I still won’t wear it.

I used to catch butterflies for a living. But I had to do it in a polyester khaki shirt and navy shorts, so not quite so stylish.
ReplyDeleteBlackswan- Aw thank you so much I don't mind at all. That's really nice of you.
ReplyDeleteInterrobangsanon- No way really? That must have been a fun job...maybe if the fashion line falls through I could do that. :D
I found your blog through modcloth. So lovely! If the internet was as common when I was your age I would have loved to have a blog like yours . . . Great aesthetic.
ReplyDeleteAnd your corgi is very cute! :)
Best of luck to you in the future!
P.S. Have you ever read any poems by Tennyson (like The Lady of Shalott) or Samuel Taylor Coleridge (like Rime of the Ancient Mariner)? You may like them. Also the paintings of John William Waterhouse.

ReplyDeleteHey.. found your blog on modcloth. I love the stuff you sew and alter.. so pretty. I hate swimsuits, but that one you made is really cool { I'll have to try that}. I f you don't mind me asking, I love your hair.. do you have it cut, or do you do it yourself??? Any tips would be super, thanks!
ReplyDeleteGemma- Thanks! I don't mind at all. I haven't had it cut in a long time. I trim up my bangs every now and then, but that's about it. I don't really do a whole lot with my hair. I put some hair stuff in it while it's wet and then scrunch it, but that's about it.
ReplyDeletewho takes all these beautiful photos ??
