Hello everyone!! How’s your week been going so far? A couple weeks ago the lovely people at BurdaStyle asked about doing an interview about the process of making the masking tape dress. If you’d like you can check it out here :)
Also, sorry I’ve been so slow in posting lately. I only have 3 weeks of school left so I’ve been busy working on my final presentations that I have to give along with studying for the dreaded finals week D: Along with that I’ve been studying for the SAT which is, of course, the same week of my finals (oh I’m so nervous!) Do you have any studying tips that you felt worked for you when studying for the SAT? If so I’d love to hear them! I finished sewing a blouse the other day, so hopefully I’ll be able to take pictures of it later this week.
Until then, I hope that you all have a fabulous day and hopefully I’ll be able to post more things later this week!
Congrats about the interview and good luck with your exams! I was never good at revising for examns, so I can't really give you any advice except keep brain food nearby :P
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm taking my SATs soon, and I took a class earlier in the year. My advice to you would be to bring a snack if it's allowed at your testing site, don't answer any question you're not sure about since that is the way it's scored, and focus on the ones you know; don't stress about the ones you're struggling with. It's better to guarantee you'll get the easy ones right than to spread yourself too thin and get easy and hard ones wrong. Hope that was a help! :)

The SATS are easy. Don't even worry. Seriously, you will do fine.
ReplyDeleteThe SAT really isn't so bad. One helpful tip, though, is to pick three to five books that you will write about no matter what. Just pick ones that you know well and have universal themes. This way you spend less time worrying about what to use for evidence. The only studying I did was actually just doing a few practice math tests. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThe best advice I took away from SAT prep was to slow down on the math section and go for accuracy, not speed. Good luck and you'll do great!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the Burda interview and all the attention your masking tape dress has gotten. Your creativity and skill will pay off in the form of a career, I am sure. I wish I had known my talents better when I was in high school - keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteWow thank you for all the tips and reassurance for the SAT! It's really helped me to re-focus on what I should study! :) I just need to remind myself during the test to slow down...I tend to speed up during tests and I always end up missing something because of it :/ I just need to remember slow and steady.
ReplyDeleteJunalaska: That really helps me! I've been trying to memories all of these quotes to use in the essay, but three books that cover many topics I think will be a lot easier to remember during the test. Thanks for the tip :D
Alessandra: Thank you for your kind words and wishes :) It's really kind of you!
Well this just be for me, 'cause i always go too slow, but don't read the passages. Go through the questions and do all definition ones, then all the specific line number one, and then try and knock out the inference ones, then read if you must.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! This is sooo cool! Here is the weird thing... I actually went on an art field trip with my class from school and I saw your dress on display with the golden key award! I can't believe I randomly found this blog! I was oooing over this dress at the gallery and my friends had to practically drag me away! :)
ReplyDeleteWoah no way you live around here?! Cool! That's funny that you found my blog! Thanks for saying hi! :)
DeleteYeah! I live about 30 minutes from Ft. Wayne! Haha! I know, right?! I actually found your blog from another blog... so, if I hadn't been following them, I wouldn't have found yours! Random question... do you run for a sport? I was just asking because your bio said you like to run and I ran cross country... and it would be seriously weird if we ran in a race together. :)
