Inspiration:

I love this so much! It’s so whimsical and dreamy…Oh how I wish fall would come sooner. I’m in a photography rut ( I hate ruts!) right now so I thought I’d show you some of my inspirations. This is one of my all time favorite fashion features. Every time I’m at a loss for inspiration I go and look at this. Hope it inspires you like it inspires me.

P.S. Some differnet blogs have done some interviews with me. Here are the links if you'd like to check them out. :)

Clare De Lune

I’m so ready to start sewing again!! I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t been able too. My poor Singer is turning blue, because of the lack of attention…poor thing. But all this week I’m going to do nothing but sew!!! My baby will turn back into a healthy cream in no time. No get well cards needed.

Awhile back I got an underwater housing for my camera and when my sister (Ruth) came home to visit I thought it would be the perfect time for an underwater fashion shoot. My sister is modeling my ruched gown I made. I realized something that day…underwater fashion photography is HARD! Half of the time I was just getting shots of her elbow! Haha. But at least now I know what to do next time…if I’m willing to attempt it again.

Sun in the Summer time:

Hey you guys! Sorry for the slow posting lately, I’ve been so busy it’s crazy!

I have some exciting news...I’m starting up my own Etsy shop!! Yay! I’ll be starting it sometime in September. I will be selling both vintage items and my own designs. I’m pretty excited about it. Now here’s the real tricky part…coming up with a name…DUN, Dun, dunnnnnn. Haha. So far I’ve got nothin…I’m drawing a blank. So if you guys could help me out that would be sweet! My dad actually came up with a pretty good one, "Milk and Oreo Handmade." The slogan could be "No crumbs left behind." Haha.

Here’s a vintage blouse I got a thrift shop a while back. It had a bunch of holes in it that I had to hand sew, but nothing too bad. This is one of the items I’ll be putting up for sale. :D

And a very special thanks to my doggy for helping me out on this photo shoot.

My lil brother:

Haha may I just say I love my little brother! He’s going to camp next week and he’s so excited. Every year at camp they have a theme, this year it’s the fifties. So he came up to me and asked if I could help him put an outfit together, and of course I said yes. We went down to Goodwill and picked out some stuff and I let him borrow some things. Thanks to Threadbanger for giving me the idea of putting wings on my converse, he can now run like the wind. Haha so he’s now all set for camp and he strongly believes of winning a bunch of points for his team. I’ll let you know if he wins.

The life of a butterfly catcher:

Today felt like a butterfly catching day. Ever just feel like catching butterflies? I get the urge all the time. I made my dress from a shirt I got at Goodwill. I cut the sleeves off, then sewed them together, gathered them into a skirt and then connected it to the top. I’m really happy with the way it turned out…but I realized something today. The 1900 style collars are evil torture devices made by man that make you sweat all day long. I think they’re right up there with corsets. Haha, but that doesn’t mean I still won’t wear it.

Anne of Green Gables:

My sister Ruth came home from Boston to visit for a few days this week. My sister’s a photographer, so of course we had to do some photo shoots together. She also has a blog www.ruthboller.wordpress.com you should check it out! She came up with a photo shoot idea to dress up like Anne of Green Gables. I’m Anne (naturally) and she’s Diana. I’m wearing the vintage lace dress I made and she’s wearing a dress I got at Goodwill for 50c. (Goodwill outlet stores…Pro-you get insanely cheap clothes. Con- the old ladies push there.) David (my little brother) took all of the photos of us together, and Ruth took the ones of just me. It was fun…but I could have gone without the cars staring as they passed by…I’m starting to get nightmares. Oh well, I guess people will always stare…shivers.
